Foster The People - best known for their chart-topping hit "Pumped Up Kicks" - formed in late 2009 when band mates Mark Foster, Cubbie Fink and Mark Ponitus got together in Los Angeles. Foster, originally from Cleveland, OH, had been writing and recording music since his youth but it wasn't until Foster The People was formed that Foster's music for the band's debut release, Torches, was ready for airtime. In early 2010, "Pumped Up Kicks" debuted on the Internet and quickly infiltrated the radio airwaves. Following the popular single, word-of-mouth propelled Torches to No. 1 on Billboard's Rock Albums and Alternative Albums charts.

Since SXSW 2011, the upbeat indie rock band - made up of Andrew McFarland, Ryan Engleberger, Graham Ulicny, and William Kennedy - has been on the rise in the indie music scene. With their funky mix of upbeat rock drumbeats, synthesizers and vocals with great range, Reptar continues to receive rave reviews.
